The process of getting a porcelain crown

In the first appointment, Dr. Childers will prepare your tooth by removing the decayed portion and reshaping it to accommodate a crown. We carry out this tooth preparation procedure after numbing your gums with fast-acting anesthetics for optimal comfort.

We’ll then take the bite impressions of the prepped tooth and the adjacent dental structures to create a restoration that fits comfortably. Your crown will be fabricated in our partner dental lab. Since this fabrication process takes a few days, we’ll place a provisional crown to protect your prepped tooth.
Once your crown is ready, our dentist will fit it to the prepared tooth and make the necessary adjustments for a snugly fit. The final step is to bond the crown securely to the tooth using dental cement. Your dental crown provides a solid restoration that can support your smile for many years with proper care.
